I’ve been a big fan of ECOlunchbox since we met them years ago. Their Three-in-One lunchbox is on regular rotation for my husband’s lunch, and the Oval lunchbox is a mainstay for my own lunch on-the-go, so I was excited to try out some new plastic-free gear! One of my main goals is to minimize our family’s use of plastic, especially when it comes to meals and food storage. Enter the Blue Water Bento Splash Box. What we have here is a plastic-free, no-leak, stainless steel container topped with a silicone lid and made without toxic materials like BPA, PVC and phthalates…Ahhh, yes! Music to my ears. Since it’s so uncommon to find a leak-proof AND plastic-free food container, I decided to give it the Saville Family Test; a rigorous evaluation that not many products have survived (wink, wink). I’m proud to say it passed with flying colors! It’s leak-proofness comes from a special lip and groove inside the silicone lid that grabs onto the edge of the stainless steel container. N.I.C.E.
The main container is made of a lighter weight steel which I actually prefer because it’s not so heavy in our bags. This would only be problematic if you planned to leave your lunchbox in the elephant pen.
Our Splash Box even came with a cute little canvas bag that my son is absolutely in love with. He runs to pack his own lunch and put it in his special bag so we can go on our next homeschooling adventure.
I’d definitely recommend the ECOlunchbox Bento Splash Box for your own lunching needs!
